What the guides on this website and the WebSilence extension can promise, and what they can't.
General information, not professional advice
The articles, guides and help pages on websilence.app are written to inform. They are not legal, medical, psychological or other professional advice. If you are worried about a child's safety or well-being, or your own, talk to a qualified professional.
Accuracy
We test the steps we describe and keep our guides up to date, but browsers, websites and operating systems change, and a menu may have moved since an article was written. Each article shows when it was last updated.
Blocking is not a guarantee
WebSilence blocks what its lists, age levels and categories describe. New sites appear every day, so no filter catches everything, and occasionally a page you need may be blocked; you can always allow it. The terms of use explain this in more detail.
Links to other websites
Our pages link to other websites where that helps. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.
Advertising
This website may show ads served by Google. Ads are chosen by Google, not by us, and an ad is not a recommendation. The WebSilence extension itself never shows ads. We don't use affiliate links; if that ever changes, such links will be marked.
Trademarks
Google Chrome and the Chrome Web Store are trademarks of Google LLC. YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Roblox and the other services named on this website belong to their owners. They are mentioned only to describe what WebSilence can block; WebSilence is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.
